Fabretto Groups Vision was to acquire this site and present a proposal for the tender to accommodate the city of greater Geelong's new headquarters this building has been designed for 12 levels, featuring Childcare, community spaces, auditorium/exhibition/function spaces with Corio bay views, which incorporates sustainable design principles, designed by Blasco Stuart Architects whose director was raised and educated in Geelong. The design reflects the familiar identity of the council logo through the curved glass facade, the proposal amalgamates 16-18 Malop St, Geelong with the council owned civic centre car park saving the community millions of dollars in construction costs.

Located in the gateway of Geelong CBD and pre-existing commercial growth, cementing the area as a modern an innovative hub within the Geelong CBD steps away from Worksafe, NDIS, Townhall, Johnstone park, library and GPAC being part of the city's green spine project and laneway precinct project

Yarra St commercial development proposal to bring ‘wow factor’ to Geelong CBD

A NEW eight-storey commercial and hospitality development is aiming to bring “some wow factor” to central Geelong. We have Plans for the mixed-use building on Yarra St, just down from the Westfield Shopping Centre flyover, have been lodged with the state’s planning minister. The building would feature high-end luxe design, with a range of features aimed at small to medium-sized businesses.

"We want to provide a quality high-end office, and develop something that has a bit of a wow factor,"

This includes flexible floor plates, high-speed fibre optic network and a rooftop food and drink venue. Talks had been held with some high-end Melbourne hospitality operators, but a deal is yet to be reached on who would run the premises. We have engaged urban designers Human Habitats and Blasco Stuart Architects to work on the project.
